HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000011_pg61-3- V) CO_ The Engineer presented a certificate of survey of a parcel of land donated to the Village for park purposes by Mr. Newton of 8319 Groveland Road. The Clerk's Office was directed to notify Mr. Newton that the Council does approve of his proposed lot split on the remaining portion of land and would act favorably upon such a request when presented. The Attorney will prepare the necessary legal papers to convey the park land to the Village. The Attorney reported that the Minnesota Water Pollution Control Commission has denied the request of Chies Brothers to operate a dump and have so informed the New Brighton Village Council (copy of letter from Commission on file.) Resolution # 162 establishing Edgewood Drive from County Road H to County Road H -2 as a Minnesota State Aid road was moved for adoption by Blanchard and Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. Mr. Skiba was instructed to place posts around the S.E. cornor of Spring Lake to hlep eliminate the motor boat problem. Motion by Sullivan to appoint Mr. Samuel B. Fried as Justice of Peace to fill the unexpired term of John Bell. Said term expires December 31, 1964. Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. The Clerk administered the oath of office to Mr. Fried. Motion by Blanchard to approve licenses. (list attached) Seconded by La Vaque. Motion by Blanchard to pay bills submitted totaling $5,51Q.-I9 Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ages. The Village Office will be open May 29 and July 3 on a limited basis with one employee in attendance. The employee who works either day will receive compensatory time. Mr. Hodges read the resignation from the Planning Commission of Mr. Bob Goff. Motion by Blanchard to accept the resignation and to have the Clerk's Office write a letter of appreciation for services rendered. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. The Mayor then read a letter of resignation from Trustee John L. Sullivan. Motion by La Vaque to accept this resignation with the regret of the entire council. Seconded by Blanchard.
