Motion by Schott to send a work order to County Engineer to
authorize the plowing and sanding of the Village streets by the County
for this winter. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes.
The Engineer gave a Drainage and sewer progress report which
included the information that a picket line had been set up, but that
most of the work was proceeding and little if any delay was forseen.
The Engineer presented a letter regarding the application of
guards or screen to the flared end sections of the surface water
drain pipes. (letter on file)
The Council received from the Engineer the preliminary plans
on the water extension into Lambert and Hillview Parks. (letter on file)
The Engineer was instructed to receive informal bids on these
two items as the total cost is estimated at under $1,000.00.
The preliminary report on the Fairchild Avenue water improvement
was received from the Engineer. Motion by Blanchard to set public hearing
for the Fairchild Avenue water improvement project on November 9, 1964
at 9:00 P.M. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes.
Motion by Blanchard to accept the final plans and specs for the
Sanitary Sewer Lift stations. (on file) Seconded by Schott.
5 Ayes.
The attorney presented several ordinances for action.
Motion by La Vague to adopt Ordinance # 118 rezoning the West 150' of
the East of the NE % of Section 8, Township 30, Range 23, except the
North 8 acres thereof and except the East 400 feet of the South 400 feet
is hereby rezoned from R -1A to R -2. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes.
Motion by Blanchard to adopt Ordinance # 119, amending Ordinance
# 15 providing for a $4.00 permit fee for the installation of gas lines.
Seconded by La Vague. 5 Ayes.
The Attorney reported that the Village of Falcon Heights would
like our assistance in a court hearing against Metropolitan Airport
Commission regarding the Commissions Zoning authority.
Motion by Rusted to authorize the Attorney to appear on this
matter with the cost not to exceed $50.00. Seconded by Schott. 5 Ayes.
Motion by Blanchard to adopt Resolution # 172 regarding
assessments after lot splits. Seconded by La Vague. 5 Ayes.

Motion by Blanchard to adopt Resolution t,_1_7:3, vacating
easement. Seconded by La Vague. -y ': - 5 Ayes.
Mr. Robert Edmond, Village Electrical Inspector, requested
the Council to consider an ordinance regulating outside lights on
homes and businesses. This was referred to the Attorney.
The Civil Defense requested a ] otter stating the insurance
coverage they have for their men while on duty. This was referred to
the Clerk's Office for a letter from the insurance agent.
