The excellent cooperation of Mr. Skiba and Mr. Gross in the
matter of pumping of excess water in the past weeks was brought up
)y Mr. La Vaque. These men have worked long hours without complaints
to ease a number of difficult situations.
Motion by La Vaque to allow Troop and Post # 400, B.S.A. the
use of the village hall parking lot on May 1, 1965 for the purpose
of conducting a car wash. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes.
The matter of the Nordling Terrace sub - division was discussed
and the following action taken;
Motion by Rustad to rezone the East % of the Northeast % of the
Northwest of Section 8, Township 30, Range 23, except the North 390
feet thereof, and except the East 33 feet thereof, from R -1A to R -3
as requested, conditioned on the receipt and approval of a building
permit. Seconded by La Vaque. 4 Aues.
Mr. Charles Jackson, Civil Defense Director reported that the
Edgewood Jr. High Shelter area was now completely stocked.
Mr. Jackson also reported that the Civil Defense unit is now
on a standby basis for flood service and will probably be called out
near the end of the week.
The Engineer presented final plans and specifications for
Sanitary Sewer Projectl965 -3, the Hillview area lateral project.
Motion by Blanchard to accept the final plans and specs for Sanitary
Sewer Project 1965 -3. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes.
Motion by Rustad to authorize the Clerk and Engineer to
advertise for bids on Sanitary Sewer Project 1965 -3. with bid closing
date to be 6:30 P.M. on Monday, May 17, 1965. Seconded by La Vaque.
4 Ayes.
A supplement to the preliminary water report was presented
by the Engineer for Council study.
A letter from Comstock and Davis, Inc. regarding the bidder:
on the Maintenance Building was read and filed.
Motion by Malvin to concur with the Village Engineers recommenda-
tion and award the bid for Sanitary Sewer Project 1965 -2 (maint. bldg.)
to the Gene 'Wagner Construcgion Company, low bidder. Amount of base
bid was $97,865.00, plus $7,000 for alternate # 1, brick facing.
Alternate # 1 is included as part of this award. Seconded by Rustad
4 Ayes.
A letter from Comstock and Davis, Inc. regarding the layout
of St. Stephens Street was received and filed, and developers of the
area wereinfo*ed of charges required before they could receive
approval of their plot plan.
The Attorney gave a brief report on the Fire Prevention Code
Ordinance and was directed to prepare an ordinance adopticg; gve.
The Attorney brought up several points in regards to the use
of a village street by the Village of Spring Lake Park for their sewer
line and was directed to meet with their Attorney to prepare the
necessary agreements.
