The Engineer and Attorney reported on the bids on Sanitary
Sewer Project 1965 -3 Schedule B.
Motion by La Vaque to accept the low bid of Northern Contracting
in the amount of $325,000.00 for Sanitary Sewer Project 1965 -3, Schedule
B. (with the recommendation of the Engineer and Attorney.)
Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes.
The Attorney reported that the difference in bids between the
above one and the original on MaY 17 by Lametti and Sons, Inc. was
$47,998.50 and this should be the amount of loss or damage to the Village.
Motion by Blanchard to authorize the Attorney to collect under
the terms of the contract, from Lametti and Sons, Inc. the full amount
of the damages in the matter of the bid received on May 17, 1965 for
Sanitary Sewer Project 1965 -3, Schedule B in behalf of the Village.
Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes.
The Attorney announced that the Sanitary Sewer Ordinance would
be discussed at the next agenda meeting and acted on at the next
regular meeting.
The first preliminary estimate of costs for tornado debris
removal was received from Mr. Herbst and it amounted to approximately
$59,000.00.
Motion by Rustad to adopt Resolution #21 (regarding lot splits
and assessment divisions) Seconded by B anchard 5 Ayes.
Motion by Rustad to adopt Ordinance # 127 (Simons Rezoning)
Seconded by La Vaque. 5 Ayes.
Motion by Blanchard to adopt Ordinance #128 (Pure Oil Rezoning)
Seconded by La Vaque. 5 Ayes.
Motion by La Vaque to allow a variance to the building code
for Mr. Overgaauw - 2274 Knoll Drive, permitting a 6 foot side yard
set back. Variance will be 4 feet. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes.
At 9:00 P.M. the Mayor opened the Public Hearing on C -1 and C -3
Sanitary Sewer Improvement proposal.
The Attorney read the legal notice and the Clerk stated that
the notices had been published and mailed according to statues.
Mr. Meyers stated the reasons for the hearing and the avenues
that would be followed by the Council after the hearing.
The Engineer showed on the map and explained the C -1 and C -3
boundaries as set by the Council and explained the estimated cost
of the improvement.
A general discussion followed and many questions were raised
and answered.
One person, Mr. Sorum, stated that he had received no notice
on the hearing.
