Insurance cover- <br />age on the truck will also be dropped. Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Clerk Walser announced that financial fact sheets will be provided <br />at future meetings. <br />Clerk Walser announced that an apparent shortage of $29.20 exixted <br />in the Clerks' Office as of January 1, 1967. <br />Mayor Rustad Appointed Gary Lang as representative of the council <br />to the Metro Tax Study Meeting to be held Wednesday, January 11, <br />in Edina High School. <br />Mayor Rustad referred the letter setting up a meeting with State <br />Highway Department Officials regarding access of county roads with <br />highways to the engineer. <br />Motion made, (Walser) seconded (Rustad) to approve Resolutions <br />;270, #271, #272, #273, #274, regarding Lot Splits for tax apportion- <br />ment purposes. Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Motion made, (Walser) seconded (Rustad) to approve the purchase of <br />-r -p equipment consisting of a hot plate (8.95) and a stencil file <br />(59,50).. Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Motion made, (''falser) seconded (Lang) to recind payment of check <br />P 2979 to Joanne La Casse in the amount of $174.80 and refer the mat =ter <br />to the attorney for further study. <br />MIr, Blanchard challenged the legality of the Treasurer in not <br />approving an authorized check. <br />Mr. Blanchard cited previous cases when additional pay had been <br />granted to terminating employees. <br />Irene Edberg, Treasurer, defended her action and stated tr�.L <br />'k had not yet been signed by the Clerk at the time in gi;:sc on. <br />The Clerk reviewed the details of the matter and sugg,:sted that <br />payment was NOT in lieu of notice as some previous cases had been. <br />The attorney concurred with the action taken, but will study the <br />matter further and issue a legal opinion later, <br />The motion to recind payment was brought to a voter <br />Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Motion made, (Walser) seconded (Malvin) to approve bills of <br />$2294.29 for village payroll. and $14,167,10 other bills for a total of <br />$16,461.39. Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Motion made, (Walser) seconded (Malvin) to approve the use of the <br />village hall by Art Johnson on January 25, 1967 at 7:30 p,m., for a <br />Political Meeting, Hall use is subject to normal clean up stipulations- <br />Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Motion made, (`.falser) seconded (Rustad) to approve licenses <br />attachment) Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />The Clerk reported reciept of a municipal state aid account balance <br />sheet indicating a zero balance in both maintenance and construction <br />accounts. <br />
