Motion made (Johnson) seconded (Malvin) to discontinue the $50.00 monthly allowance to Wally Skiba for truck expenses. Insurance cover- age on the truck will also be dropped. Motion Carried 5 Ayes Clerk Walser announced that financial fact sheets will be provided at future meetings. Clerk Walser announced that an apparent shortage of $29.20 exixted in the Clerks' Office as of January 1, 1967. Mayor Rustad Appointed Gary Lang as representative of the council to the Metro Tax Study Meeting to be held Wednesday, January 11, in Edina High School. Mayor Rustad referred the letter setting up a meeting with State Highway Department Officials regarding access of county roads with highways to the engineer. Motion made, (Walser) seconded (Rustad) to approve Resolutions ;270, #271, #272, #273, #274, regarding Lot Splits for tax apportion- ment purposes. Motion Carried 5 Ayes Motion made, (Walser) seconded (Rustad) to approve the purchase of -r -p equipment consisting of a hot plate (8.95) and a stencil file (59,50).. Motion Carried 5 Ayes Motion made, (''falser) seconded (Lang) to recind payment of check P 2979 to Joanne La Casse in the amount of $174.80 and refer the mat =ter to the attorney for further study. MIr, Blanchard challenged the legality of the Treasurer in not approving an authorized check. Mr. Blanchard cited previous cases when additional pay had been granted to terminating employees. Irene Edberg, Treasurer, defended her action and stated tr�.L 'k had not yet been signed by the Clerk at the time in gi;:sc on. The Clerk reviewed the details of the matter and sugg,:sted that payment was NOT in lieu of notice as some previous cases had been. The attorney concurred with the action taken, but will study the matter further and issue a legal opinion later, The motion to recind payment was brought to a voter Motion Carried 5 Ayes Motion made, (Walser) seconded (Malvin) to approve bills of $2294.29 for village payroll. and $14,167,10 other bills for a total of $16,461.39.
