Motion made, (Rustad) seconded (Walser) to approve the resolution
( #277) supporting the Battle Creek Metropolitian Zoo,
Motion Carried 5 Ayes
The attorney submitted copies of the proposed street opening
ordinance for study by the council.
Motion made, (Johnson) seconded (Rustad) to direct the Attorney to
make a cmprehensive study of all insurance needs of the village and
report to the council. Motion Carried 5 Ayes
The attorney reported that the Greene case trial had resulted in
the awarding of a directed verdict to the Village of Mounds View. The
plaintiff has until January 13, to appeal.
Motion made, (Malvin) seconded (Johnson) to set the police salaries
at $675,00 per month for the Police Chief, $610.00 per month for the
Sergeant, and the patrolman at $550.00 per month for John Kardell,
$500.00 per month for Tim Smith and $475.00 per month for George Katser-
es. Officer Katseres to recieve this salary effective May 1, 1967
after completing his six months probation period.

Motion by Walser to publish an extract of minutes withdrawn
pending a study of cost involved.
The Engineer reported having sent letters to the highway depart -
ment.on revocation of Groveland from Knollwood to Highway #10 as an
MSA Street and requesting designation as MSA Street for Edgewood from
County Road I to Hillview and New Arden Avenue from Long Lake Road to
Spring Lake Road. This will require a resolution by the council.
The Engineer reported difficulity in sealing leaks on current
sewer construction due to low temperatures. It must be over 25 degrees
in order to use the sealant..p_
