M /S /P (Walser /Rustad) To authorize the treasurer to transfer
$40,000.00 from the Bond redemption account to the Sewer Utility
account. 4 Ayes
The Mayor opened the Rezoning hearing on the Gillespie property at
8:30 P.M.
Clerk Walser read the official notice and attested to its publication
and to the notification of property owners within 250 feet of the
property to be rezoned.
Mr. Gillespie explained tis purpose in requesting R1A to B3 rezoning
was to allow him to sell used cars on his property as a part time job.
Resident (Robert Larson, 7960 Fairchild) spoke against the proposed
use of the property.
'esident (Arnold Scho11'ergerdes, 7950 Fairchild) spoke against the
-posed use of the property.
Resident (LeRoy Tauer, ''980 Fairchild) spoke against the proposed
use of the property.
Resident (Elmer Trefelben, 7985 Fairchild) spoke against the proposed
rezoning. Car testing in the area would be a safety hazard.
Resident (Jim Gable, 7934 Fairchild) spoke against the rezoning,
citing problems in ever reselling the property as a private reside:
and the possibility of a very undesireable commercial operation
buying the property.
Mayor Rustad called for objections.
Mr. Gillespie commented on other business use in the immediate area,
and general business use of property along Highway #10.
Mr. Robert Larson questioned the effect of reduced traffic when
Highway #10 is rerouted. Trustee Malvin commented that studies
show heavier traffic by that time even with #10 rerouted. Mr.
Gable commented again on the eventual use of the property. Mr.
Chuck Larson commented on the unfairness of discriminating against
one parcel of land.
Mayor Rustad called for objections.
The hearing was closed at 8:40 P.M.
Mayor Rustad reviewed the rezoning and stated that he opposes it.
Clerk Walser reviewed considerations and stated that he opposes it.
