VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW

March 11, 1968
The Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order
by Mayor Rustad at 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 11, 1968, at the Village Hall,
2401 Highway #10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112.

Mayor Rustad announced that it is Girl Scout Week and introduced honorary
councilmen from Cadette Troop # 26.

M /S /P (Malvin /Johnson) To approve the February 26th minutes.
Mayor Rustad announced he has received a letter from Mr. Lloyd Blanchard
requesting a waiving of the rubbish hauling license to permit the Boy
Scouts to haul garbage as a fund raising project for Troop # 167.
M /S /P (Malvin /Lang) To grant waiving of rubbish hauling license for Boy
Scouts from April 6 to April 20.
The Mayor directed the weed inspector to attend the meeting with the
Department of Agriculture on March 21, 1968.
A letter requesting water, sewer and streets in the Park View Terrace
Addition was read. The builder will use brick facing and above ground
construction. The cost of any preliminary plans made will be paid by the
builder whether they are put in or not.
M /S /P (Malvin /Johnson) To accept the petition and to submit it to the
Engineer for a preliminary report.
A variance request for Mr. James Carlson, 7932 Greenfield was presented.
M /S /P (Rustad /Lang) To grant variance to Mr. Carlson.
Mayor Rustad announced that a Federal grant of $552,000 for water improvements
was received by the Village. He thanked all of the people that had helped
to make this possible.
Mayor Rustad reported numerous dog complaints from Pinewood and St. Stephens
Street. The dog catcher has not responded as expected. The Mayor suggested
sending a letter to the dog catcher requesting strong enforcement of the
ordinance, that he respond immediately to calls, and request he attend the
next agenda meeting.
