HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000022_pg202 Councilman Hodges' Report Councilman Hodges presented the "Ramsey County Outdoor Recreation Plan" prepared by the City of St. Paul. Councilman Hodges stated there will be a recreation meeting February 26th at 7:00 P.M. Councilman Hodges also announced that all ice rinks have been closed and that he attended a meeting recently in which the establishment of a youth center was discussed. Councilman Blanchard's Report Councilman Blanchard announced that there will be a human rights commission meeting Thursday night. Councilman Blanchard also commented that Village streets are going to get wetter but that the County and Village crews were out opening drains. The Civil Defense are ready in case of flooding and the Governor has declared a state of emergency. Councilman Johnson's Report Councilman Johnson reported that the resolution passed by the Mounds View Council requesting study of the Minneapolis offer has not been acted on as yet since NSSSD has not officially received a bona fide offer from Minneapolis for sewer capacity. Councilman Johnson also presented a proposal for floridation equipment. MSP (Johnson /Malvin) To purchase floridation equipment from Hawkins Chemicals Inc. for a total cost of $1,745.00. Mayor Rustad asked reporter, G. Skiba, to mention in the Bulletin that in no case are garbage cans to be placed by the curb in Mounds View. Our ordinance forbids the cans no closer than the side of the dwelling. Councilman Malvin's Report MSP (Rustad /Malvin) To set rezoning hearing for Ervin Herbst for March 24 at 8:30 P.M. Generally 6.23 acres located in Southwest 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 8 lying Southwesterly of T.H. 10 and North of a line running parallel and distant 958.59 feet North of the Southerly line of said quarter section line. Request R1 to B3. Walter Skiba commented that Ramsey County will be posting their roads soon. Council advised Clerk to send a work order to Ramsey County requesting them to post our streets also. Malvin reported that Fire Chief Fagestrom had stated that our fire hydrants look good. He also would like our maintenance men to be volunteer firemen during the day while they work for the Village. Attorney advised that the men may legally belong. Council desired to discuss further with the Fire Chief. 5 Ayes 5 Ayes
