MSP (Malvin /Johnson) To deny the rezoning requests as petitioned. 5 Ayes
Councilman Blanchard commented that he would deny this request but the persons
in the audience should realize that the Planning Report was ten years old and
that in general the Council has been unhappy with it. He also stated that the
Council had previously considered acquiring this land for a park.
Councilman Hodges and Councilman Malvin gave a brief background on the growth
of the Mounds View recreation areas and on some of the persons who originated
it. They asked for volunteers to work on the Recreation Committee. Three or
four persons in the audience of approximately 100 raised their hands.
