Councilman Blanchard stated that many times a project may cost him votes
personally but that he feels that he also should always act in the best
interests of the community.
Councilman Hodges stated that in the area there was spot rezoning now but he
asked if this is the right place for the development proposed.
Councilman Johnson stated that he could not see the development in the area
which it is in at the present time.
Councilman Malvin asked about the commitment which Red Owl was supposed to
have made to Mr. Gustafson. Councilman Malvin stated that it seemed any
developer that appeared with plans for a shopping center had received
tentative approval from Red Owl.
MSP (Johnson /Blanchard) To deny the zoning request as petitioned. 5 Ayes
Attorney Meyers was given approval to attend a recreation meeting on
December 10th at which possible federal assistance for park development
would be discussed.
