Councilman Hodges' Report
Councilman Hodges reported that on October 28th the Recreation Committee held
a park plan meeting with Brauer and Associates and on November 7th the plan
was unanimously accepted by the Committee. Mr. Hodges introduced Tom Hanson
and Chuck Hefty the former giving a brief presentation of the Plan. Generally
he stressed that our parks lacked cultural and ornamental objectives. He
stated that with new acquisitions of from 30 -40 acres in the Minar property,
12 acres for Moga property, and 20 acres for pedestrian easements our park
acreage would go to 20 per 1,000 population.
After questioning from the Council it was determined that a Master Plan would
cost $1,000 per site but that Brauer would furnish some preliminary cost
estimates for developing the three aforementioned sites.
MSP (Blanchard / Neisen) To receive the report from Brauer and Associates.
Councilman Hodges stated he wanted to thank Steve Kirchoff for the park name
signs.
Councilman Blanchard's Report
MSP (Blanchard/Malvin) To authorize the installation of street lights at the
following locations.
By police recommendation:
Midway between Hillview and Sherwood on Fairchild
It It rr rr It " Sunnyside
It " Red Oak
" it II rr r' " Eastwood
On County Road I and Clifton
On the Lois Drive cul de sac
By resident petition:
Bronson and Jackson
Jackson and Laport
Councilman Blanchard also announced that at the next NSSSD meeting the formation
of a North Suburban Advisory Committee to the Metro Sewer Board will be discussed.
The charges to support the committee will be based on flow.
Councilman Blanchard stated that use charges to the serviced communities for
Quarter 4 were reduced to $.00 and $1.33 for Quarter 3.
Councilman Neisen's Report
Councilman Neisen stated that the water problem on Old Highway 8 and County Road H
still exists as the State has not reported back to our inspector yet.
Attorney Meyers'_Report
Attorney Meyers presented quick claim deeds for a perpetual easement for road
purposes over the following described properties:
The South 40' of the East 153.13' of Lot 82 Knollwood Park.
The Easterly 30' of Lot 82, except the Easterly 306.26' and except the North
87.25' Knollwood Park.
The South 40' and West 30' of the West 153.13' of the East 306.26' of Lot 82
Knollwood Park.
