- 4- <br />Mr. Glazer showed some slides he had taken of truck terminals in Roseville and also <br />of the present location of Century Motor Terminal in south east Minneapolis, which <br />showed some bad "housekeeping" and soot on trailers. They were not located in any <br />residential area. He hoped we could do something for a tidy operation if they locate <br />in Mounds View. <br />Engineer Boehm asked how many employees would be on the sight at one time. The <br />answer was between fifty and one hundred. The terminal would be located on 13.9 acres. <br />A resident inquired how many units would be moving between 10 at night and 6 in the <br />morning. Attorney Bonello answered three, four, five an hour. <br />Mr. Glazer asked if the Village could set its own noise limit. Attorney Meyers said <br />we couldn't interfer with interstate commerce. <br />MSP (Hodges /Johnson) To authorize the Attorney to prepare a Special Use agreement <br />to be entered into with Century Motor Freight with stipulations plus detailed site <br />plans subject to Council approval. <br />Attorney Bonello said he would check into the outside storage of tires for Century <br />Motor Freight which appeared in one of the slides Mr. Glazer presented. <br />Councilman Johnson asked when the ground breaking would be. The answer was when the <br />architect had the full plans and specifications and when the financing was arranged. <br />They hoped ground breaking could be by fall. <br />Mr. Beim presented a petition for street, water and sewer. He was instructed to <br />hold the petition until the Special Use Permit was okayed. <br />layor Neisen adjourned the regular meeting at 9:10 P.M. to hold the scheduled <br />nearing. <br />Mayor Neisen announced that there would not be an Agenda Meeting on June 19th. The <br />next one would be June 26th. at 7:00 P.M. followed by the regular Council Meeting at <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Mayor Neisen announced that on June 6th he and Mayor Farrell of Shorview had gone <br />to St. James to deliver the tickets for the Polka Festival in payment of a bet on <br />the Mounds View Basket Ball Team. He stated that St. James should be commended for <br />showing appreciation of the tickets. <br />The hearing to issue a Special Use Permit to Keith Harstad to construct 72 townhouse <br />units reconveined at 9:12 P.M. Mr. Harstad brought us up to date as to what had <br />happened at previous meetings and presented three plans. <br />Plan 1 was of lots meeting code or better in size and 9 townhouses with one running <br />north and south facing Long Lake Road. <br />5 Ayes <br />Plan 2 was comprised of 80 foot lots, 6 townhouses on County Road H2, 2 double <br />bungalows one located on the corner of County Road H2 and Long Lake Road the other <br />on the corner of Ridge Lane and Long Lake Road. This was refered to as the P.R.D.Plan <br />or P.U.D. <br />Ilan 3 the lots varied in size from 83 feet wide to 85 feet and Mr. Harstad specified <br />double bungalows along Red Oak Drive instead of residences and 6 townhouses on County <br />Road H2. <br />
