Recreation Commission may be asking for one -third of the total revenue sharing
allocation. Councilman Pickar declared that he would like to see more money
spent to develop Lakeside Park.
Mrs. Nancy Burmeister, 7565 ICnollwood Drive, lent support for a revised compre-
hensive plan. She also suggested keeping a planner on a retainer basis at least
in the short term.
Mr. Thomas Doherty, 2109 Laport, felt that the money ought to be used on things
cut back by the Federal Government.
Mrs. Wille, 7911 Spring Lake Road, also backed spending money for an updated
comprehensive plan.
Robert Glazer, 2375 Hillview, said that magnesium was building up in the water
supply and distribution system. He felt that the system may need more than
just softening.
Mr. Doherty suggested adding a community activity center to the list of priorities.
Mayor Neisen said that the purpose of the meeting was to keep residents informed
of the use of revenue sharing and to allow them to suggest possible alternatives.
MSP (Neisen- Hodges) To allocate the following in conformance with the planned
use report for the entitlement period ending June 30, 1973:
1) Semaphore at County Road I and Quincy
2) Grading plans at Groveland, Greenfield, and
Woodcrest parks
3) Salary for full time man hired but unbudgeted
for park maintenance
4) Storage building

MSP (Baumgartner - Pickar) To adjourn the special hearing at 9:12 P.M. 5 Ayes
Mayor Neisen reported on the County Board Meeting he attended on June 4th. He
requested that the County and the Village pick up 50% of the stop light cost at
Quincy and County Road I after application of the money earned by the "Operation
Stoplight" program sponsored by a private group. The County concurred with Mayor
Neisen's request.
MSP (Neisen - Pickar) To authorize Mounds View to enter into a 50 percent parti-
cipation with the County to provide for the installation cost of a temporary
semaphore at Quincy and County Road I after applying $1,465.43 (approximately) to
the total cost. 5 Ayes
