MSP (Baumgartner- Johnson) To authorize the appraisal of a 15 acre parcel
on the northeast corner of Silver Lake Road and County Road H2 described as
follows:
Beginning at the center of Section 7, Township 30, Range 23;
thence East along the South line of the Northeast Quarter
(NE 1/4) of said Section 7 a distance of 729.20 feet; thence
northeast at an angle of 107 degrees with last said line a
distance of 876.41 feet to a point on a line parallel to and
838.15 feet North of said South line of the Northeast Quarter
(NE 1/4); thence West on last said parallel line a distance
of 978.13 feet to the West line of said Northeast Quarter
(NE 1/4); thence South along said West line of the Northeast
Quarter (NE 1/4) a distance of 838.15 feet to the point of
beginning; subject to Silver Lake Road over the West 47 feet
and County Road H2 over the South 33 feet; containing 15 acres
excluding road area;
and the appraisal of approximately three acres North of Woodcrest Park
described as follows:
Lots 1, 2 and 6, Downing Addition.
The appraisals to be handled through Attorney Meyers and made for the possible
purpose of the Village acquiring the property for park land. 5 Ayes
Clerk Zylla announced that letters had been sent to the respective property
owners and a meeting was held with the owners of the 15 acre parcel,
Councilman Baumgartner, and Clerk Zylia. There has been no reply from
Mr. Downing, the apparent owner of the property north of Woodcrest Park.
Councilman Hodges' Report
Councilman Hodges noted that the Village was in the process of up- dating its
Civil Defense warning plan which would include the installation of an additional
siren in the Twelve Oaks area.
MSP (Neisen - Pickar) To authorize the Village Public Works Department to place
a layer of blacktop in the drainage ditch that runs north of Sherwood Road at
the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Sherwood Road.
The Clerk is to notify the individuals that attended the last public informa-
tional hearing of the Village's action.
Councilman Johnson's Report
Councilman Johnson declared that he was meeting with a person on the staff of
the Corporate Report Magazine with hopes of getting an article about Century -
Mercury Motor Freight and the financing that was made possible by the sale of
Mounds View Industrial Revenue Bonds. It is hoped that the article would
highlight the upcoming Century- Mercury Motor Freight open house scheduled for
September 9, 1973.
