Mrs. Bosell, 2601 Ridge Lane advocates that both lights be installed as originally proposed. Mr. Hanslip, 2613 Ridge Lane thought that after the first letter was sent that there would be no lights if both lights were not installed. He wants the light proposed between 2609 and 2613 installed one lot further east. Mrs. Long, 2604 Ridge Lane stated that several homes had their bedrooms in the front. That the solution is to buy a shade. Mrs. Rowley, 2562 Ridge Lane presented the latest petition which requested that some lighting be provided. Mrs. DeBerg, 2600 Ridge Lane questioned why the lights if reordered could take as much as four to six months to install. MSP (Johnson - Neisen) To order the installation of the street lights on Ridge Lane between Long Lake Road and Rainbow Lane as per the original request with one light between 2563 and 2601 and one light between 2609 and 2613. Mayor Neisen's Report Mayor Neisen read the list of proposed energy conservation measures directed by Clerk - Administrator Zylla to be implemented by the various department heads and employees. 5 Ayes MSP (Neisen- Johnson) To authorize the Police Civil Service Commission to begin testing for the position of patrol sergeant in order to determine if there are any qualified applicants. 5 Ayes MSP (Neisen- Hodges) To accept the list of three certified applicants from the Police Civil Service Commission for the office of police patrolman, the list including Larry Benolkin, Roland Partyka, and Jack Chambers, and to authorize that Mr. Chambers be hired effective January 1, 1974. 5 Ayes Clerk- Administrator Zylla's Report MSP (Pickar - Hodges) To approve the licenses: Excavating - A.M. Zappa Exc. & Grading, Crown Construction Co.; General Contractor - Random, Inc., Geo. W. Olsen Const.; Heating & Air Conditioning - A. Binder & Sons, Inc.; Sewer & Water - Surma Plumbing Co. MSP (Hodges - Baumgartner) To approve the bills: General Fund checks #7952 thru #7990, Payroll Account checks #1055 thru #1057, Bond Account check #107, Payroll checks #655 thru #689. Transfer check #7991 transferring $11,205.71 to pay gross pay of November 30, 1973. From General - $9,014.65, from Water - $1,453.56, from Sewer - $737.50. Total disbursements $249,955.97. 5 Ayes 5 Ayes Clerk- Administrator Zylla said that a partial settlement involving the suit brought against several cast iron pipe manufacturers has been received amounting to $784.29. Clerk- Administrator Zylla announced that 48 persons had not complied with the house numbering ordinance and would be issued tickets. Attorney Meyers advised that a warning notice be hand - delivered prior to the notice requesting court appearances.
