Mr. Gum, 7770 Greenwood Drive asked what the City intended to do with the existing
police station. Mayor Neisen said it would become storage, and maintenance repair
shop.
Mayor Neisen explained that the proposed building is planned so that it could be
expanded in the future if there ever is a need, but Council does not anticipate
any further need at this time.
Mr. Russell Paul, 7940 Greenfield Avenue, asked if it wouldn't be cheaper to
build two stories instead of spreading out.
Mayor Neisen explained that this would not pertain to public buildings for
various reasons, such as handicapped persons, fireproofing, elevators, etc.
A representative from Earl Weilke & Sons asked if this bid was being let
just on base bid and alternate #1.
Mr. Walijarvi listed the different alternatives and explained what they were.
He recommended that the Council take the base bid and the lower level.
MSP (Neisen - Pickar) To draw up contracts subject to posting of bonds with
B & E Enterprises, (General Construction), bid price $221,310. with Alternates
Al (lower level), A2 (Plaza), and A3 (Rm. #119). C ®O. Carlson Air Conditioning,
bid price $109,578 with alternates M1 and M3, Maurie St. Martin Electric (Electrical)
bid price $37,965 with alternate El (lower level). 5 Ayes
MSP (Johnson- Baumgartner) To amend original motion to include alternate E2
(Plaza Lighting) for $3,808. Pickar Aye

Mayor Neisen called the special meeting on the semiphore installation on Highway
#10 to order.
Mayor Neisen introduced Glen Van Wormer, District 9, Minnesota Highway Department.
Mr. VanWormer stated that their basic proposal was to install two additional
signals along Highway #10, one on County Rd. H2 and Highway #10 and one on County
Rd. I and Highway #10.
