Councilman Baumgartner said acquisition of this land has been considered
before and the Commission would like to put an ice rink on this property.
MSP (Baumgartner- Hodges) to approve Resolution No. 688 declaring certain
lands as non - conservation; and requesting certain land be conveyed to the
City of Mounds View for park and recreation purposes.
Engineer Bearden said he met with homeowners on the north side of Ardan
about a week ago. They signed the agreement to let the City do the drainage
work on the driveway. He stated that the curbing installed to prevent runoff
into their driveways makes it difficult to enter the driveway in a car without
dragging.
The quote from Bituminous Roadways seems excessive, so he has asked for
prices from two other firms.
Mayor Johnson siggested Councilmen drive by and look at the situation.
MSP (Johnson - Hodges) to table the subject of the improvement necessary
to affect temporary drainage solution in Ardan Avenue /Red Oak area
until Council has more information on the matter.
Mr. Ingvald Johnson presented his preliminary plat for a major subdivision
at 8384 Long Lake Road.
MSP (Johnson - Shelquist) to set a public hearing on Ingvald Johnson
major subdivision for 8:45 p.m. on September 22, 1975.
MSP (Shelquist- Baumgartner) to set a public hearing on October 6th at
7 p.m. for proposed 1975 city budget.
Engineer Bearden presented a preliminary plan for construction of the city
hall parking lot.
The plan consists of 75 parking spaces, concrete curb and gutter around
the entire parking lot with separate access on Edgewood Drive to the
police department. The estimated cost for this Project is $25,150.
Mayor Johnson asked about lighting for the parking lot.
Engineer Bearden said flood lighting on the building or a mast with
directional flood lights on the islands could be used.
MSP (Hodges - Shelquist) to accept the plan presented for construction of
the parking lot to include the lighting system and the cost of the line
to be installed for filtration plant #1 and to eliminate the sealcoating
and eliminate five parking spaces on the southwest side of the lot for
landscaping purposes. Striping of the parking lot shall be included
in the bid. Stipulation that the cost of the filtration drainage
pipe be paid out of the water fund and bid as a separate item.
MSP (Johnson- Hodges) to amend the motion to advertise for bids to be
opened on September 25, 1975, at 11:45 p.m.
