Administrator Achen said the contract for the storm water drainage study
to be done by Bannister -Short stipulates that the city will provide
as -built plans for all public improvement project. We have blueprints
-of all these projects in the city office but no reproducible copies. He
said the drainage study requires profiles on street grades, locations of
underground utilities, etc. Administrator Achen anticipates that once the
city has a resident engineer, he will want to have the original plans
for all future projects. For completed projects, we can obtain reproducible
copies from Comstock $ Davis. The cost of the reproducible copies would be
between $2- $2.50 a sheet. There are about 1,100 sheets to copy. To
obtain blue -print copies, the cost would be 40¢ per sheet. He recommends
to wait on obtaining reproducible copies until we hire a resident engineer.
MSP (Johnson - Shelquist) that we obtain blueprint copies of all public
improvement project as- builds from Comstock & Davis for use by Bannister -
Short in the storm drainage preliminary study, and that the estimated
cost of 40( per sheet be paid out of the Revenue Sharing Fund which will be
used to finance the storm drainage feasibility study.
ATTORNEY MEYERS' REPORT
Attorney Meyers commented on a complaint he had received from an individual
involved in the tornado disaster last May at the Mounds View Mobile Home
Park. The person called several times complaining abut being charged $18
for gas inspections that took four to five minutes. The person wanted
to know why the city required this inspection of the gas lines. The inspections
were performed by Northern Propane who charged a minimum fee of $18 for each
unit. Attorney Meyers said he wrote a letter to Northern Propane regarding
this charge with a copy to the Better Business Bureau. He said Northern
Propane points a finger at the city concerning this matter.
COUNCILMAN BAUMGARTNER'S REPORT
Councilman Baumgartner reported the next Park and Recreation meeting would
be Thursday, November 13th at 6:30 p.m.
COUNCILMAN PICKAR'S REPORT
Councilman Pickar reported that Mike Dailey, member of the Lakeside Park
Commission has resigned. The Commission is looking for another member.
