Mayor Johnson: Perhaps we could raise the license fees annually
based upon our increased service costs.
Attorney Meyers: Nothing can prevent this.
Mayor Johnson: The rates are too low anyhow. This is an attempt
to place all licenses into a position that would appear to be reasonable
for the service rendered.
Mr. A. Hardinger: Between the cabaret and the liquor increase and
property increase, we are going to get it. An awful lot in one
year. We'll pay the average. Go over the metropolitan area and
arrive at a just figure.
Mayor Johnson: The places that had dancing had more problems
generally than the places that did not. So we arrived at the
cabaret license.

There comes a point where you can't pay anymore. Speaking only for
myself, I think we want to be able to pay our fair share. I didn't
get this letter until 10:00 this morning. The license fees will

because they are coming due in January. This does not include
the cabaret.
