CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
A special meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order by
Mayor Johnson on January 5, 1976, at 6:38 p.m. at Edgewood Junior High
School cafeteria, 5100 Edgewood Drive, Mounds View, Minnesota.

Councilman Baumgartner
Councilman Pickar
Councilman Shelquist
MSP (Johnson - Pickar) to appoint Councilman Hodges acting Mayor for 1976.
MSP (Shelquist- Hodges) to appoint the New Brighton Bulletin as legal
newspaper for 1976.
Mayor Johnson asked the Administrator to write a letter to Mr. Eugene
Skiba of the Bulletin thanking him for the excellent job of reporting he
has done in the past and the tremendous cooperation he has shown the City.
Mayor Johnson asked the Administrator whether the service of the 1st State
Bank of New Brighton had been satisfactory in 1976. Administrator Achen
indicated that the Bank's service has been very satisfactory.

MSP (Baumgartner - Pickar) to appoint 1st State Bank of New Brighton the
City's official depository for 1976. 5 ayes
Mayor Johnson noted the resignation of Mr. Michael Lonergan from the
Planning Commission and asked the Administrator to publish notice of
vacancy on the Planning Commission, stating that interested applicants
should submit resumes. Deadline Thursday, January 22, 1976. Councilman
Pickar noted that the Lakeside Park Commission has two vacancies and so
does the Human Rights Commission.
Administrator Achen noted that a Local No. 320 contract had been signed .
by the union representatives implementing the Memorandum of Understanding
between Teamsters Local No. 320 and the M.A.M.A. Negotiating Committee
approved by the Council at its December 8, 1975 meeting.
MSP (Hodges - Shelquist) to accept and execute Local No. 320 contract for
1976 and 1977. 5 ayes
MSP (Baumgartner - Hodges) to accept Dept. of Housing and Urban Development
community development block grant of $25,000 for inventory of existing
housing conditions and implementation of housing code enforcement activities
and to authorize the Mayor to execute the contract accepting the grant. 5 ayes
MSP (Pickar - Hodges) to adjourn at 7:00 p.m. 5 ayes
