Mayor Pickar stated that Item E was to authorize the employment
of a part -time clerk - typist to update the precinct voter registra-
tion files, the hourly rate is not to exceed $2.50 and total com-
pensation not to exceed $300.
Councilmember Shelquist stated that this matter had not been
discussed before.
Administrator Achen stated that this item is covered in the
current budget under part -time temporary account in the general
administration account. He explained that there is a back log of
registration cards that need to be brought up to date.
Mayor Pickar stated that this was discussed right after the election.
He also stated that once the registration cards are taken out for
people that no longer live in Mounds View, the percentage of voters
will probably be higher than 73 %.
