Counci lmemher Rowley asked if the level o!ers were 0noosed t0 giving

stated that they would rather not give it. Counci1memher Rowley
explained that if the plat does not have this easement, the County
will not allow it to be filed.
Councilmemher Baumgartner stated that since the County will not
build a four lane road on a 4r easement anyway, the City could
request that curbs, gutters and sidewalks he installed.
MSP(€laumgartner- 7ie€5arth) to approve the "Ion Homestead Addition as
presented on the preliminary plat dated January 7, 1977.
Sandra ^le"erson stated that they understood the easements would be
for drainage purposes, not utilities. Administrator Achen stated
that "utility easement" is a term used icy the City, hut the intention
is for drainage. The City asks for drainage easements hecause of the
Problems that arose in the Spring of 1975. At that till, no Council
felt it was necessary to n involved with the drainage of the
neighborhoods.

Vote on motion to approve the Moe Homestead Addition preliminary plat. ayes
MSP (Hodges - Ziebarth) to adopt Resolution No. 798 revising the approval -----
of the Widger Addition plat to allow adequate easement on Red Oak Drive
so it conforms to Ramsey County requirements. 5 ayes

Administrator Achen stated that the Police nepartment has been ,g'i nformed
about this, but has not taken a position on it.
Councilman Hodges asked about the fire codes. Attorney Meyers suggested
that approval be subject to Chief Fagerstroms approval too.
