Administrator Achen stated that the city's share is tentatively planned to be funded from the Revenue Sharing monies. Vo.te on adoption of Resolution 799. ADMINISTRATOR ACHEN'S REPORT. Admin. Achen stated that the Local No. 49 situation is explained in his report. He suggested that all public statements be made only by the Mayor. The Lakeside Park Silver Skates competition is at 2 :00 p.m. this Sunday, January 7. 5 ayes ATTORNEY MEYERS' REPORT. Atty. Meyers stated that there was a hearing on the Dumas assessment appeal and the Judge said that he was kicking it out since the first judge didn't find any benefit. Atty. Meyers reviewed the action that had happened with this appeal in the past. The only recourse is to attempt appeal to the supreme court that both courts made an error. Atty. Meyers suggested that the Council not take this appeal any further. If Mr. Dumas ever decidesto subdivide his lot, the City can pick up the assessments. The difficulty is in catching this in the future years when the property is developed. The City has no right to file anything against the deed. ENGINEER HUBBARD had no report. COUNCILMEMBER HODGES had no report. COUNCILMEMBER BAUMGARTNER had no report. COUNCILMEMBER ROWLEY had no report. COUNCILMEMBER ZIEBARTH had no report. MAYOR PICKAR'S REPORT. Mayor Pickar stated that the Council had not yet authorized the staff to proceed with the appraisal. MSP (Pickar - Ziebarth) to authorize Bettendorf Appraisals to appraise the property being considered for acquisition in the city's LAWCON appli- cation. Cost of the appraisal is not to exceed $500. 5 ayes Mayor Pickar stated that he met a member of the Social Services for Anoka County who told him that they wereusing the CETA program to help with their work. They hired a carpenter and an assistant to take care of winterizing the elderly homes. Mayor Pickar suggested that this be looked into. Councilmember Ziebarth stated that the colors on the City sign were reversed and asked if the staff could find out what it would cost to change the panels. The original plan was written wrong in the specifi- cations. Admin. Achen stated that the staff could get an estimate of the cost and the Council could decide on what to do.
