HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000046_pg004PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA A regular meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order by Mayor Pickar at 7:30 PM on January 9, 1978 at the Mounds View City Hall, 2401 Highway 10, Mounds View, Minnesota 55112. Members Present: Also Present: Councilmember Hodges Clerk- Administrator Achen Councilmember Rowley . Attorney Meyers Councilmember Ziebarth Engineer Hubbard Mayor Pickar Councilmember Baumgartner was noted as absent due to illness. MSP (Rowley - Hodges) to approve the minutes of the December 19, 1977 meeting as presented. 4 ayes CITIZEN COMMENTS AND REQUESTS Charlotte Fields, 2255 Lambert presented the Council with a petition of 300 signa- tures requesting a revision to the truck parking ordinance, and explained that she and the others who had signed the petition would like the City to revise the ordinance to allow privately owned trucks to be parked in the City. duel Wold, 2616 Hillview Road stated that he had just spent $25 and lost a days wages as he was not able to get his truck started since he hadn't been able to plug it in at home. He also stated that not everyone was receiving citations for their trucks. Mayor Pickar replied that he had talked to the Police Chief, who stated that the City was being patrolled and citations issued to violators but that it was possible that not all trucks were parked when the patrols were made, and thus would not have received a citation yet. Jim Allen, 7943 Greenfield stated that he believed the ordinance should be reworded to include privately owned trucks and asked if any action would be taken on the ordinance. Mayor Pickar replied that if the Council members wished to, the issue could be dis- cussed again, and that notice would be published as to when it would be discussed. Mayor Pickar accepted a petition from the Mounds View Lions Club, requesting Council approval of a resolution designating February 4 as Sight Preservation Day. Chuck Averbeck, President of the Lions Club, explained that a clinic would be held at Apache Plaza shopping center on February 4 to test for glaucoma. MSP ( Pickar- Hodges) to pass Resolution #884 designating February 4, 1978 as Sight Preservation Day. 4 ayes
