CITIZEN COMMENTS AND REQUESTS
Charlotte Fields, 2255 Lambert presented the Council with a petition of 300 signa-
tures requesting a revision to the truck parking ordinance, and explained that
she and the others who had signed the petition would like the City to revise the
ordinance to allow privately owned trucks to be parked in the City.
duel Wold, 2616 Hillview Road stated that he had just spent $25 and lost a days
wages as he was not able to get his truck started since he hadn't been able to
plug it in at home. He also stated that not everyone was receiving citations for
their trucks.
Mayor Pickar replied that he had talked to the Police Chief, who stated that the
City was being patrolled and citations issued to violators but that it was possible
that not all trucks were parked when the patrols were made, and thus would not have
received a citation yet.
Jim Allen, 7943 Greenfield stated that he believed the ordinance should be reworded
to include privately owned trucks and asked if any action would be taken on the
ordinance.
Mayor Pickar replied that if the Council members wished to, the issue could be dis-
cussed again, and that notice would be published as to when it would be discussed.
Mayor Pickar accepted a petition from the Mounds View Lions Club, requesting Council
approval of a resolution designating February 4 as Sight Preservation Day. Chuck
Averbeck, President of the Lions Club, explained that a clinic would be held at
Apache Plaza shopping center on February 4 to test for glaucoma.
MSP ( Pickar- Hodges) to pass Resolution #884 designating February 4, 1978 as Sight
Preservation Day. 4 ayes
