Mayor Pickar stated he would like to review the SDM charge and amend it to allow
credit to home owners for property improvements as he believes it penalizes those
people who would like to improve their property. He added that he would have an
amendment prepared by the June 26 meeting.
Mr. Loeding read the letter he had received from Roger Short, giving the definitions
of a storm drain and storm sewer.
Mayor Pickar reported that he had received a complaint from the resident at 2221
County Road H2, that the people to the rear of her had put up a fence which was
blocking the easement so the utility lines could not be maintained. He added that
he would like the City to look into it.
Administrator Achen explained that if the fence were improperly placed along the
easement, the City or utility company could take it down to maintain the lines and
would not be responsible for putting it back or compensation. He added that if
there is no easement there, it is their right to put the fence up.
Attorney Meyers added that the citizens would have to bring in a petition with 35%
of the residents signatures, requesting a road, before the City would act on a
road to go through the back of the property.
MSP (Baumgartner - Ziebarth) to adjourn the meeting at 12:00 AM.
