MSP (Ziebarth- Rowley) to approve the minutes of the March 26,
1979, meeting as corrected. 5 ayes
CITIZEN COMMENTS AND REQUESTS
Neil Loeding, 5046 Longview Drive, requested permission to tape
record the Council minutes. He cited an example of a court
case that allowed such recordings. Attorney Meyers responded
that that was not a Ramsey County court case. Discussion ensued
on the pros and cons of allowing tape recordings -- inhibiting
discussion, admissibility of recordings as court evidence, etc.
MSP (McCarty - Forslund) that the Council allow meetings to be
recorded. 4 ayes
(Ziebarth) 1 nay
Bill Doty, 3049 Bronson Drive, questioned having Council
packet materials available to the public. Councilmember Rowley
will provide Council with the survey Shoreview did regarding agendas,
minutes and Council packet availability to the public.
APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA
MSP (McCarty - Ziebarth) to approve the consent agenda, except Items
H & I, as follows:
ITEM A. Authorize staff to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding
with Carpenter's Union Local #7 for the use of the City
voting machines and staff support services at a fee of $750.00,
with a damage deposit of $6,000.00.
ITEM B. Authorize staff to execute an agreement with N.S.P. for the
installation of one street light at 8409 Knollwood Drive,
ITEM C. Authorize staff to purchase on printing calculator with tape
for the City Water Department at a cost not to exceed $75.00.
ITEM D. Establish Saturday, May 5, 1979, as the annual citywide
Clean Up Day.
