HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000050_pg104April 23, 1979 Page 7 MSP (Ziebarth- Hodges) to authorize the Mayor and Staff to enter into a letter of understanding with the union representative of the Public Works Department. 4 ayes CITY ADMINISTRATOR CONTRACT Mayor McCarty reported that the Council had met with the applicant on April 22 and that he had agreed to receive their offer. MSP (Rowley - Ziebarth) to formally offer Jeff Nelson the position of Clerk - Administrator with the following stipulations, a beginning salary of $23,500 during a six month probation period, with a 7 percent increase after the successful completion of that probation period. He will receive the standard benefit package, will be authorized to go to the national ICMA convention, given $75 per month mileage, be allowed moving expenses up to $1,000 and have standard sick leave and vacation schedule. Mr. Nelson's starting date will be June 4, 1979 and he will have up to 18 months to move his family to the City of Mounds View. 4 ayes Councilmember Rowley asked that Acting Administrator Anderson write a letter of understanding to Mr. Nelson and have him sign a copy of the letter and return it to Mounds View for the City's records. She also asked Staff to contact the other applicants and let them know the position had been filled. COMSTOCK AND DAVIS MARCH BILLING MSP (Rowley - Ziebarth) to authorize appropriate Staff personnel, i.e., Official Rose and Finance Director Brager to sit down with Comstock and Davis and go over the billing and explain the City's feeling on housekeeping, which should be covered under the 2.25 factor, to be discussed at the April 30 agenda session, with Mr. Beardon requested to attend the meeting. 4 ayes Acting Administrator Anderson recommended they discuss the entire reapportionment process. Official Rose stated that he would walk the Council through the procedure on April 30 and recommended the Council discuss it before discussing it with Mr. Beardon. TELEPHONE SYSTEM UPDATE Acting Administrator Anderson reported that the City is already experiencing some difficulty with the new phone system as they need more help in answer- ing the increased number of calls coming in, and asked that it be dis- cussed again soon.
