HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000050_pg121PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY,' MINNESOTA A regular meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order by Mayor McCarty at 7:35 p.m. on May 29, 1979, at the Mounds View City Hall, 2401 Highway 10, Mounds View, MN 55112. MEMBERS PRESENT Mayor McCarty Councilmember Forslund Councilmember Hodges Councilmember Rowley Councilmember Ziebarth ALSO PRESENT Acting Administrator Anderson . Attorney Meyers MSP (McCarty /Hodges) to approve the May 14, 1979, minutes as corrected. CITIZEN COMMENTS AND REQUESTS Dave Notaro, 2749 Ardan Avenue, asked what is the status of the storm drainage problem. Mayor McCarty indicated the City is moving ahead on a policy and that he had a report available to the Council and he would make it available to Mr. Notaro. 5 ayes Margaret Kremer, 7663 Groveland, questioned if there was an ordinance on shrubs at intersections. She indicated there were lilac bushes on the west side of the inter- section at Groveland and County Road I that obstructed motorists' vision. Council- member Rowley indicated the matter had come up previously and it was found to be private property; the City would have to request the citizen trim the bushes. James Trapp, 8018 Sunnyside Road, stated the need for traffic control for the cross- walk on Sherwood and Sunnyside Road to protect school children. Mayor McCarty indicated the matter would be referred to the Police Dept. and Staff would get back to Mr. Trapp. APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA Mayor McCarty asked that Items C, F, G and H 'De removed from the agenda. MSP (McCarty /Hodges) to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: ITEM A. Authorize the purchase of two signs and posts stating "Deaf Child Area" for the 8000 block of Woodlawn Drive at a cost of $81 to be charged to Contingency. ITEM B. Authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to enter into an agreement between the City of Mounds View and the City of Fridley for the purpose of permitting certain residents in the City of Mounds View to connect onto the City of Fridley's municipal water system. ITEM. C. Approve the transfer of $650 from the City Forestry Account, #275 -450 -4020, to the Recreation Account, #100- 350 -4160. ITEM D. Approve the payment to H. V. Johnston Culvert Company for $120. for the safety cover on the culvert on Ridge Lane out of the City Contingency Fund. 5 ayes
