COUNCILMEMBER FORSLUND'S REPORT Councilmember Forslund reported that the Planning Commission meetings will move to the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Their June 20 meeting will be a special joint session with the Council for the purpose of interviewing professional planners. Councilmember Ziebarth indicated that input should be obtained from the new City Administrator before the June 20 meeting. Councilmember Forslund further reviewed the actions of the May 23, 1979, Planning Commission meeting. Councilmember Forslund added that she had talked to the Principal of Red Oak School regarding the traffic hazard to children using the crosswalk on Sunnyside Road. She felt the Police Department should deal with it before the next Council meeting. COUNCILMEMBER ROWLEY'S REPORT Councilmember Rowley congratulated Acting Administrator Anderson for his job well done. Councilmember Rowley reported that the Special Session Transportation Bill gives the City a 2 -year "reprieve" regarding the airport issue. Councilmember Rowley indicated the Lakeside Park Swimming Registration is coming up June 6 and 7 and suggested it be announced on the sign board. COUNCILMEMBER ZIEBARTH'S REPORT Councilmember Ziebarth indicated he had observed the Jet Rodder in action and was impressed. He noted that a big problem occurs when disposable diapers plug the pipes. He suggested a notice be placed in the newsletter to make residents aware of this problem. Councilmember Ziebarth stated there has been no Parks & Recreation meeting but will be one shortly. MAYOR McCARTY'S REPORT Mayor McCarty stated congratulations and thanks on behalf of the Council to Bruce Anderson for a job well done as Acting Administrator. Mayor McCarty pointed out the telephone number for the Fire Department in the new telephone books is incorrect. He suggested the correction be published in the newsletter. Mayor McCarty indicated Dr. Machmeier will soon be able to give his opinion regarding a cost proposal to relieve existing drainage problems on Ardan Avenue.
