MAYOR McCARTY'S REPORT Mayor McCarty wanted to know if the MPCA was contacted regarding the race track that was requested at the last Council meeting. Building & Zoning Official Rose stated we had received a reply from them and he had sent them a schedule of speedway events. Mayor McCarty stated we had received a letter from Herbst regarding cleanup and wanted to know if we had responded. Acting City Administrator Anderson stated he had not seen the letter, but would do so. Nancy Burmiester, Planning Commission member, stated Jerry Foss had resigned at the last meeting. Upon written notification, the Council will appoint Peg Mountain to fill the vacancy. ACTING ADMINISTRATOR ANDERSON'S REPORT Acting City Administrator Anderson stated there were two licenses for approval that were not on the agenda as they were received late. (1) Best Steak House and (2) Dalan Builders. MSP (Hodges /Ziebarth) to approve the two licenses. Acting City Administrator Anderson stated that the Mounds View area was severely hit by the Tuesday, June 19, storm. Approximately 600 trees were lost, the Sands Apartment building was severely hit, a mobile home was knocked from its foundation in Colonial Trailer Court, an empty trailer was knocked down next to Fedor's and we lost a couple of telephone poles. Some citizens were concerned about removal of branches. 5 ayes Acting City Administrator Anderson stated he had met with Kraus - Anderson regarding the Silver View Park project and will get specific direction from the Council as to how they want to proceed. This will be on the July 9 agenda. Acting Administrator Anderson also stated the puppet wagon would be on the road on Tuesday, June 26, at 9:00 a.m. and that formal flower gardens were being planted in the front of City Hall.
