Mountin suggested Council set up informational
meetings for people to the north and those on
the south side, in order that MnDOT can provide
an overview of Hwy. 10 as it fits into a major
U.S. highway system.
Ferris stated that businesses along Hwy. 10 were
against the relocation. She stated MnDOT only
has 3 proposals and E.I.S. favors relocation.
Hedlund suggested Council ask MnDOT for a 6 -month
moratorium in order to inform citizens.
Ziebarth made the motion, seconded by McCarty
to direct Staff to draw up a resolution requesting
MnDOT for a 6 -month moratorium to provide time
for informational meetings with them for the
citizens of Mounds View.

Ziebarth: 1) Made a public apology to the
Planning Commission for coming Aug. 9 for an
Aug. 8 meeting. 2) Asked about the possibility
of another postal outlet. 3) Gave belated thanks
for the Festivities Committee to the Park & Rec.
Dept., Maintenance personnel, Staff, newsletter,
and the community.
Forslund: 1) Pointed out some citizens were not
aware a permit is required to use the City park,
and its sometimes not left clean. Suggested an
article in the newsletter could remind citizens.
Stated she feels the dumpster is not large enough.
2) Pointed out the metal doors of the fireplace
in the park are rusting; perhaps C.E.T.A. kids
could work on it. 3) Asked what happened to the
$100 Jaycees donation for a bonfire ring for the
park. Nelson stated an inner ring is downstairs
at City Hall. 4) Pointed out there never was a
review on reapportionment. Nelson stated there
was a need for a review of this type - -Staff will
present first and then Comstock -Davis will present.
Rowley: 1) Suggested agenda sessions be earlier.
August 20 meeting will be at 5:00 PM. 2) Re: District
621 C.I.P. Plan - -Staff is directed to send a letter
asking what schools will be closed and explaining
the impact on the community as the reason for
the request. 3) Re: Lakeside Park -- Rowley asked
direction whether to pursue sale of the park to
the County, or if the City should keep it and
perhaps employ a "user fee" to help with expenses.
Council preferred the latter action; however, the
title should be cleared from Playground, Inc.
