problems, i.e., construction leaks, lack of heat
when needed, water temperature problems, worn
carpeting, exposed carpet nails, and many promises
made to the tenants and not honored. Tenants feel
they are being unfairly treated and several have
been evicted for no apparent reason.
Attorney Meyers explained the housing code ordinance,
that the Building Official has the authority to
take the complaints and file them with the City.
The Building & Zoning Official can inspect for
violations. The owner will have time to bring
them up to code and if he fails, he may be pro-
secuted. Rose indicated he would contact Olson
to inspect within two days.
Forslund: Requested that Planning Commission
agendas and general information be placed outside
the Council Chambers so public can be aware of
what is discussed. Council agreed. Rose will
inform Chairperson Haake.
Rowley: No report
Hodges:1)Noted that the Jerry Lewis M.D. telethon
local activity, sponsored by the Lions, will take
place at Moundsview Square this weekend. 2) He
asked about Council goals prepared by Council -
members. Nelson explained he will take them
and consolidate with others.
Ziebarth: re: the possibility of another Post
Office outlet - -a citizen contacted him that she
had been trying to do the same thing for about
two years. She suggested we check with Our Own
Hardware owner, who had expressed interest at
one time. Staff is in process of putting
information together.
McCarty: Read what he intends to put in the
New Brighton Bulletin as a request for ex official
member of Planning Commission. Council agreed.
Nelson: Defferred his report until later because
of the large number of people present, waiting
for other issues on the agenda.
Rose explained that this development agreement
contains a legal description, final plat, drainage
plan, plans and specs for public improvements, and
as builts for public improvements, as well as
$150,000.00 letter of credit. Rose outlined other
conditions o2 the development agreement to which
the developers agree. Rice Creek Watershed has
given tenative approval of the development.
