Nelson explained that in the past, the City has used these funds for capital items. Notation will be made in the New Brighton Bulletin that inputs are solicited from the public as to the revenue sharing up to Sept. 24. The Mayor closed the Public Hearing and reopened the regular meeting. Nelson notified Council he had received a call from Geo. Halverson asking to appear at the Sept. 10 Council meeting. Nelson read a letter from Pinewood PTO requesting a flashing traffic light for crosswalk at Quincy St. He stated that request had been sent to Police and Public Works Depts. Ziebarth directed Staff to contact the school district. Nelson explained that New Brighton has asked if Mounds View is interested in investigating a cable TV franchise. Could possibly issue a joint power franchise from the district. It could be a boost for dissemination of public information. Forslund made the motion, seconded by Ziebarth, to adopt Resolution 1020 to establish an advisory body to investigate cable TV. 5 ayes 0 nays This item will be in the New Brighton Bulletin. Nelson pointed out we need authorization for representation by Metropolitan Area Management Association in joint negotiations for a contract beginning January 1980. McCarty made the motion, seconded by Ziebarth, to authorize M.A.M.A. 49 negotiating committee to negotiate for Mounds View. 5 ayes 0 nays 5. REPORTS b. Administrator
