Regular Meeting
September 10, 1979
Nelson: 1) Indicated he had received a letter
from A.M.M re: a vacancy on the Board of Directors
and asked if any Councilmember was interested;
there was no interest. 2) Comstock & Davis will
attend the Oct. 15 agenda session to talk with
Council re: concerned issues. 3) Advised of
upcoming conference on Urban Soil Errosion &
Sediment Control in St. Paul. Forslund plans
to attend and suggested Nelson and Rose attend
also.
Ziebarth made the motion, seconded by Rowley,
that funds previously set aside for the National
League of Cities action conference and not used, be
made available for the Urban Soil Errosion &
Sediment Control conference in St. Paul.

Nelson (continued): 4) Advised of meetings
scheduled for the purpose of Council reviewing
the proposed 1980 budget. Advised that Oct. 8
Council meeting will become Oct. 9 because of
holiday. Suggested the public be notified via
newspaper of the budget review sessions.
Forslund made the motion, seconded by Ziebarth
to set up the following meetings for budget review:
Thurs., Sept. 13 (7:00 PM)
Mon., Sept. 17 It
Thurs., Sept. 20
Mon., Sept. 24
Thurs., Sept. 27
Mon., Oct. 1
Tues., Oct. 9

Nelson (continued): 5) Re: Crosswalk for
Pinewood School--Public Works feels that with
the combination of a patrol and painted cross-
walk, this should be sufficient for safety.
6) Re: cleaning the ditches--asked if it would
be the same amount if done in the winter and
found it would be higher, because of need to
break up frost. Will get a third opinion.
McCarty suggested smaller contractors should
be contacted. 8) Re: Complaint from manager
of Angie's Pizza House on high rate of 3.2
Beer and Wine License--asked if Council felt
the City Attorney should review.
McCarty made the motion, seconded by Rowley
to ask the appropriate City Staff to re-evaluate
the ordinance concerning 3.2 beer.
