A discussion took place regarding the amount of benefit received as a result of Machmeier's report. Mayor McCarty stated that a verbal directive from Machmeier had prompted the City to reverse the storm sewer cleaning procedures. Bill Doty felt the implementation of recommendations found in Machmeier's report represents a commitment for the City to pay him. Roger Baumgartner, 7585 Knollwood Dr., con- tributed 9 copies of Machmeier's report, and recommended the citizens should read the report and make up their own. minds. McCarty called for the question, seconded by Forslund. 5 ayes 0 nays McCarty moved, seconded by Ziebarth, to deny the bill. 2 ayes 3 nays (Nay votes: McCarty, Forslund, Rowley) Rowley moved, seconded by Ziebarth, to table the matter, directing Staff to contact Machmeier, inviting him to attend the next agenda meeting or if this is impossible, a Council meeting or agenda session, at his earliest convenience. The present City Administrator, as well as Mr. Anderson, who was acting Administrator at the time, should be present at the meeting, so we can resolve the issue. 5 ayes 0 nays Ziebarth moved to amend the motion, seconded by McCarty, to include a determination by the Public Works Dept. as to how much they have used Machmeier's information. 5 ayes 0 nays Mrs. Linnell, 5205 Sunnyside Rd., asked if the City might have to pay Machmeier for coming out as requested.
