McCarty stated, for the record, that he had
accepted the $1000 check and intends to hold
it until Council determines its course of
action (approximately two weeks).
Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and
opened the public hearing.
Rose read the revised Ordinance #293 re:
Yard Requirements:
°'a. Where adjacent structures within the
same block have front yard setbacks
different from those required, the front
yard setback shall be within the range of
the setbacks of the adjacent structures.
If there is only one adjacent structure,
the front yard setback shall be within the
range of the required setback of 30 feet
and the setback of the adjacent structure.
In no case shall the front yard be less
than 30 feet."
Ziebarth moved, seconded by Hodges, to adopt
Ordinance 293, 40.05 Subd. C(a) with the
addition of the phrase: "the City Council
of the City of Mounds View ordains the
Ordinance 293 to be the amended ordinance
of the City of Mounds View of the zoning
ordinance 40.05, Subdivision C(a). " 5 ayes

CLOSE & OPEN AGAIN
Finance Director Brager gave a presentation
outlining the financial reasons for a
recommended utility rate increase. The
two options for water rates were: 1) to
retain the $6.00 minimum water rate, or
2) discard the minimum rate with a charge
of 55¢ per 1,000 gallons, as requested by
senior citizens. Sewer rates would increase
from $16 per R.E.C. to $18 per R.E.C. The
added income could be used to pay for
emergency situations, or would provide
surplus cash to the City.
Ziebarth moved, seconded by Rowley to adopt
Resolution # 1049 presenting the increased
utility rates as of January 1, 1980.
