Dan Boxrud of S.E.H. explained the
proposed installation of water services
(Project 80 -1) and possible methods of
financing.
Walter Skiba, 7841 Silver Lake Road,
pointed out a possible problem since the
apartments have paid for improvements in
the past. Attorney Meyers explained that
anyone previously assessed may be due a
credit, should the project go through.
A discussion took place regarding whether
the system would provide adequate fire
protection. The Fire Marshal has pre-
viously indicated it would not.
Glenn Karlen, affected property owner,
wants the improvements, but not at $66
per sq. ft. Genevieve Dahlberg, 8605
Baltimore St., affected property owner,
felt it was time for the lots to be
developed, but thought the cost sounded
rather unreasonable. Mrs. Hansen, 7767
Groveland, feels that since her lot is
83' wide - -too narrow to build double
dwellings similar to those around her and
not desirable to build a single family next
to double dwellings - -it may be unmarketable
and therefore not worth the high cost of
water installation. Craig Zuidema, 2809
County Road I, does not want and would
not accept the $66 /sq. ft. assessment- -
he has recently dug a new well.

IMPROVEMENTS
The Mayor closed the Public Hearing and re-
opened the Regular Meeting at 9:00 PM.
McCarty moved to deny Project 80 -1 because
it is not economically feasible. It was
seconded by Ziebarth.
The motion carried.

Ziebarth moved that this water improvement
project be considered for the Capital
Improvement Plan when it is considered.
It was seconded by McCarty.

Repair of Silver Lake Road has been
delayed because of recent cold weather.
A 2 ft. settlement of the pipe has been
found. The City will clean out the main
and determine the damage.
