The purpose of this letter is to inform the public of the sur- vey, the reasons the respons is being solicited, and encouragement to return the survey form and how that can be accomplish- ed. Nelson read the letter to the public. He asked the mayor to sign the letter, which the mayor had done, and return to the Staff in order to meet the timetables provided by the Director. Second item concerns work be performed by the City's Engineer regarding questions over Silverview Park Lake. The Council asked the purpose behind the need for the study and it was explained that it was necessary for the City to understand some of the ramifications of this Lake in the future. Ziebarth moved that the Short Elliott study on the Silver - view Park Lake be approved pursuant to the memo of the Park Director dated February 6, 1980 and that the cost of the project should not exceed $2,000 and if it appears that it will, that the City Council take the matter under advisement before proceeding with ad- ditional expenditures. Hodges seconded the motion. The motion carried. 5 ayes 0 nays City Council also determined that the exact method of funding of this study would be determined at a later date.
