being put out to the public during the
month of February. The purpose of this
letter is to inform the public of the sur-
vey, the reasons the respons is being
solicited, and encouragement to return the
survey form and how that can be accomplish-
ed. Nelson read the letter to the public.
He asked the mayor to sign the letter, which
the mayor had done, and return to the Staff
in order to meet the timetables provided by
the Director.
Second item concerns work be performed by
the City's Engineer regarding questions over
Silverview Park Lake. The Council asked the
purpose behind the need for the study and it
was explained that it was necessary for the
City to understand some of the ramifications
of this Lake in the future. Ziebarth moved
that the Short Elliott study on the Silver -
view Park Lake be approved pursuant to the
memo of the Park Director dated February 6,
1980 and that the cost of the project should
not exceed $2,000 and if it appears that it
will, that the City Council take the matter
under advisement before proceeding with ad-
ditional expenditures. Hodges seconded the
motion.
The motion carried.
