BID AWARD Council with background information on the VEHICLES FOR 1980 Bids received and opened for 7 vehicles on the llth of February, 1980. Nelson noted that the City had received three bids prior to the 9 o'clock bid opening. The City also received one sealed bid at 9:38. He had not opened that bid for fear of pre- judicing the bids that were received pur- surant to the Standards set by the City Council. He did inform the City Council that in a discussion with the City Attorney the City Council could wave the irregulari- ty for the purposes of consideration of that unopened bid. City Attorney ratified that comment. After some general discussion, Mayor McCarty moved to open the late bid from Iten Chevrolet and it was seconded by Councilman Hodges. The motion carried. 4 ayes 1 nay Rowley descented because she had felt the award did not meet the standards expected the other bidders. Based on that bid open- ing, the bid award recommendation had to be modified and the apparent low bidders were Rosedale Chevrolet for a small sub- compact or compact car and two small pick- ups. Iten Chevrolet appeared to be the apparent low bidder for the Police vehicles and two standard pickups. Ziebarth moved to accept the bid as received and award the bids to the two apparent low bidders in the following manner -Iten Chevrolet, (2) Chevro- let Malibu Police Cars for $14,260, also (2) Chevrolet Series 10 Pickups for the total of
