Mayor McCarty made a motion that the public
works superintendent be requested to, as soon
as possible, install the handicapped signs in
the City Hall's parking lot. Ziebarth seconded
the motion.
The motion carried.

Mayor McCarty thanked Betty Skelly (resident),
Edna Young (senior citizen), and Peg Mountin
(Planning Commission) for attending the meeting
with Governor Quie regarding H.F. 2476 legisla-
tion pertaining to the airport.
Mayor McCarty thanks the Mounds View community
who voiced their opinions to Governor Quie on the
House File 2476.
Mayor noted that Lakeside Park Commission still has
an opening and that he would like to see a senior
citizen apply for this position.
Mayor asked Donna Bowman (in the audience) for a
report on the parks this summer. She reported
that they had full events for Tuesdays (puppet
Wagon), Wednesdays (special events), and Thursdays
(Sr. Citizen Day) beginning May 18, 1980.
Mayor McCarty made a motion that the Council meet
with the City engineer and the public works superin-
tendent on May 6th at 7:00 a.m. with Virgil Beyer
(Excavator) at the Arden Avenue Park to explore possi-
bilities for solving the drain outlet problem. Mayor
McCarty indicated that he had gone through earlier and
chain saws and clean -up plus 8 -10 hours of work for
$350 would relieve the ditch obstruction. Ziebarth
seconded the motion.

Attorney Meyers reported that he had a meeting with
the representative from MnDOT for the limited use
permit in the area south of the Watson property today
and that he would be reported further to the Council
on this matter.
Attorney Meyers also reported a discussion with the
Highway Department regarding the interchange for the
proposed Highway 10 and suggested a meeting with them
to discuss exactly what the requests of Mounds View
are.
