The Mounds View City Council was called to order at 1. CALL TO ORDER
7:35 P.M. on July 14, 1980 by Mayor McCarty.
Members Present: Forslund, Rowley, Hodges, Ziebarth, 2. ROLL CALL
and Mayor McCarty.
Also Present: City Attorney Meyers, Acting Clerk -
Administrator Anderson, and Acting Building & Zoning

Jim Birkholz, conservation specialist, briefly 3. RAMSEY COUNTY SOIL CONSERVATION
reviwed the contents of his letter to the City of DISTRICT - JIM BIRKHOLZ
Moundsview (dated July 10, 1980). He is recommending "WETLANDS INVENTORY"
that all wetland areas be located down to approximately
1/4 acre in size. Detailed information can be pre-
pared for Type 2 through 8 wetlands over two acres in
size. When the map is prepared, Mr. Birkholz suggested
that the District could assist the City in defining
wetland limits to the degree of precision needed for
enforcement purposes. If the project is started now,
the initial report should be ready around January 1, 1981.
McCarty made a motion, seconded by Hodges, that the City
Council authorize an account up to $650 for the Ramsey
County Soil Conservation Study and this will be paid from
the SDM fund. The motion further directs the city attorney
to write a draft wetlands ordinance so that the Council
can be addressing this document while the District is
completing the technicalities of the study.

Ziebarth made a motion to amend the main motion, seconded
by Rowley, that October 20th be set as the date for the
initial discussion of the draft wetlands ordinance.

McCarty -(Page #4 -3rd paragraph). Change
"Police Chief Fagerstrom" to read "Fire Chief
Fagerstrom."
Rowley made a motion, seconded by Forslund to adopt
the minutes (dated Draft Copy #1, 6/27/80) as corrected.
