Councilmember Ziebarth made his final reminder to
everyone to attend the July 20th Festival in the
Park.
Councilmember Hodges:
- He reported that the Youth Service Bureau's
budget for next year will be $9,248, but they expect
it to go up the next year. He is encouraging the
school district to contribute funds to this Bureau.
- He asked Council to address the request for
increasing the contribution of Moundsview for the
fireman's pension plan. On July 22nd, both Blaine
and Spring Lake Park will be invited to meet with
Moundsview to discuss this issue. (7:00 P.M.)
- He asked to have the noise ordinance issue
discussed at the July 21st agenda meeting.

Mayor McCarty: (McCarty)
- He has received the preliminary working figures
from the Department of Commerce Bureau Census. In
ten working days, the City has to respond to them with
either confirmation or revision.
- He notified Council that he has received
two resignations from the Planning Commission:
Commissioner Goebel and Commissioner Burmeister.
Applications for these two vacancies will be accepted
until July 31st.Council will review applications on
August 4th and the appointments will be made on
August llth.
- He informed Council that there is a Governor's
Seminar on Community Development scheduled for July 23rd.
He will reserve a spot for someone to attend.
- He asked Council to clarify the use of city vehicles.
One particular city employee has been given permission to
take the vehicle to his home when he is nn -call during the
weekends. This has posed the following questions:
1) If he is out on a personal trip, and he has his private
vehicle, and he is beeped - could he take the private vehicle
on city business or must he go home and get the city vehicle
first, 2)If he has to go home to get the city vehicle, is he
essentially "punched in" the minute he receives the call or
when he enters the city vehicle, 3)Can he take the city vehicle
with him on private business when he is on -call so that the
vehicle is close by when it is needed? (If so, could passengers
be allowed in the city vehicle while on personal business).
4)Would he be covered under the City's insurance policy in any
and all of these situations?
