Regular Meeting
January 26, 1981

The Mounds View City Council was called to
order at 7:30 P.M. on January 26, 1981, by
Mayor McCarty.
Members present: Hodges, Forslund, Blanchard,
Doty, McCarty
Others present: City Attorney Meyers, Clerk -
Administrator Pauley, and Building & Zoning
Official Rose.
Mayor McCarty read a proclamation setting
aside the week of February 1 -8 as "Spina
Bifida Week in Mounds View ". The Sno- Mounties
of Mounds View will be raising funds to supply
braces, wheelchairs, ramps and other usable
equipment to be shared in the Spina Bifida
Loaner Library. They will be educating the
public on this disease by distributing litera-
ture and will also conduct a Fund Drive
Marathon on February 8th.
Mayor McCarty presented members of the Brownie
Troop No. 1530 to the Council and the audience.
He then read Resolution No. 1234 (resolution of
appreciation to Mounds View Brownie Troop #1530
for participating in distributing yellow ribbons
to residents of Mounds View honoring the 52
American diplomats held hostage in Iran). Mayor
McCarty personally thanked each Brownie member
for their individual contributions toward remembering
the hostages during the Christmas Season of 1980.
MOTION: Hodges made a motion, seconded by Forslund,
to approve the minutes of January 5, 1981 (special
meeting).
