AMENDMENT TO THE MOTION: Mayor McCarty moved to
amend the motion that the money be taken out of
the contingency fund instead of shortening up
the Parks and Recreation Fund at this time.
Councilmembers Doty and Hodges, and Mayor McCarty
withdrew their motion and amendment to the motion.
MOTION: Councilmember Doty made a motion, seconded
by touncilmember Hodges to adopt Resolution 1262,
awarding the bid to Collins Electric in the amount
of $2,975.00 using Contingency Fund monies, and to
waive the reading of the Resolution.
Ayes -5
Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED.
Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director 7. Bids for T- Shirts for the
Anderson passed out a memorandum to Council Parks and Recreation
regarding T -Shirt bids, He stated that staff Department
is recommending the bid be awarded to Gopher
Athletic Supply Company. Further he stated that
there is a $10.00 registration fee which covers
the cost of the T- Shirts.
MOTION: Councilmember Hodges made a motion,
seconded by Forslund to approve the bid from
Gopher Athletic Supply Company in the amount
of $3,752.68.

Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED
Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director Anderson
discussed the Public Hearing that had been held
on Saturday regarding Silver View Park.
Clerk /Administrator Pauley discussed the meeting
that had been held on March 25, 1981, with
members of the Fire Department Negotiating
Committee.
Councilmember Doty read the letter of April 1, 1981,
from Fire Chief Fagerstrom. He stated that the
contract has been signed by the City of Spring
Lake Park and Blaine.
Summary of Discussion:
Doty: Section 3.3, additional levies that could be
made to the City. He voiced his concerns over a
five year contract with this in it.
McCarty: He read Section 3.5, and Article 12. He
stated that the right to re -open the contract
conflicts with Article 12. Further that there are
no provisions for continuity. Mayor McCarty read
