HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000056_pg136MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting May 11, 1981 Page 8 COUNCIL RECESSED FOR A BREAK: 9:17 p.m. COUNCIL RE- CONVENED: 9:31 p.m. Mayor McCarty stated that a year ago a petition 9. had been brought in by the garbage haulers asking that the size of containers be increased and that they could pickup garbage at the curb. He stated that they were asking to allow containers to be 80 gallon maximum, and that cans be placed on the curb up to 12 hours before pickup and 12 hours after garbage pickup. MOTION: Mayor McCarty made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Doty to approve the 1st reading of Ordinance No. 304. The vote was taken by calling of the roll. 5 ayes 0 nays MOTION CARRIED. Attorney Meyers reviewed the changes to the proposed Ordinance Amendment. Consensus of the Council was to pass discussion on this Ordinance. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN. 1st reading of Ordinance No. 304 - Amending Municipal Code of Mounds View by amending Chapter 104, Entitled "Garbage and Rubbish ". 10. 1st reading of Ordinance No. 306 - Amending Municipal Code of Mounds View by amending Chapter 50, Entitled "Parks and Play- grounds". Those in attendance were: Ed Donatelle, Joe 11. Ryan, Attorney, 7039 Knollwood Drive, and it was indicated that the architect was also in attendance. Mr. Ryan stated that there is a good deal of work that is going to be done such as: building would be sprinkled, additional exit added, new wash room facility on the main level. He stated that they were eliminating the bottle shop and that he feels this will eliminate alot of the in and out patterns. Discussion in length took place regarding the security deposit. Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated that staff had met with Sherman Rutsick and that he had indicated a willingness to sell Mr. Donatelle a one acre site. Councilmember Doty stated that there is parking on the easement off the property on H -2, and also that the building is on the easement. The use of ease- ments was discussed in length. Attorney Meyers stated that placing of a structure on an easement is a risk factor because the structure may at some time need to be removed.
