Clerk /Administrator Pauley added that additional information will be provided to the Council on the conference, and that if the budget allows, they could send some members of the Planning Commission, as the registration fee is $12.50. Councilmember Forslund reported there would be a sludge site meeting held in Coon Rapids on September 10 at 8 PM. Councilmember Blanchard had no report. Councilmember Doty reported that there were several park buildings that were not up to code, and recommended looking into using revenue sharing funds to move the buildings to cement slabs and repair them to meet code. Mayor McCarty recommended that the issue be brought before the Park and Rec Commission. Councilmember Doty reported he had attended League of Cities meeting regarding pensions, abor relations and so forth, and that they are working on the areas they will be lobbying for in the Legislature. Mayor McCarty reported that they are close to having the final recommendation ready to present to the Met Council on the airport, and that they hope that within nine months there will be a change in the regulations. He added that he had received a letter that Arden Hills and Spring Lake Park had opted out of the airport fight. Mayor McCarty requested that Staff submit a recommendation for the manhole on Ardan Avenue, such as cost, etc. Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied that the City does not have the equip- ment to do the work so they would obtain estimates on contracting the job out. Mayor McCarty stated he was concerned with the property around the southeast edge of Spring Lake, since the vehicle barrier had been removed and cars and trucks were driving on the grass, which . had eroded away. He stated he would like to get 'le approval of the St. Paul Water Works and Ramsey aunty to get some controls enacted.
