Attorney Meyers suggested sending them the proposed Chapter 48 for their review. Mayor McCarty asked that it be discussed at the next agenda meeting. Mayor McCarty stated that applications had been received to fill the vacancies on the Planning Commission and Park and Rec Commission, and recommended Cindy Wermager be appointed to the Park and Rec Commission, and Rodney Herring to the Planning Commission. Motion /Second: Doty /Hodges to accept the Mayor's recommendation of Cindy Wermager to the Park and Rec Commission. 4 ayes 0 nays Councilmember Hodges stated he felt Jerry Linke would be a better candidate for the opening on the Planning Commission as he had been a member of the community for several years and has been very active in it and done a good job. Duncilmember Blanchard stated she felt Mr. Linke ,could do a very good job, and that perhaps he was ready to move from the Park and Rec Commission, and rather than let him burn out on the Park Commission, she would like to see him moved. Councilmember Doty stated he did not feel Mr. Linke would be a good candidate for the Planning Commi- ssion due to his views in many areas. Mayor McCarty added that he felt Mr. Linke had been very vocal and in opposition to much of what the Council has been trying to do. Motion /Second: Doty /McCarty to accept the Mayor's recommendation of Rodney Herring to the Planning Commission. 2 ayes 2 nays Councilmembers Hodges and Blanchard voted against the motion. iyor McCarty asked for an update on the problems trespassers at Spring Lake. Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied that the County had assured him they would put posts in yet this year. Motion Carried Motion Denied
