COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
Resolution Authorizing Certification of the Preliminary General Fund Budget and
Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2012
WHEREAS, current state statute requires cities to certify a preliminary budget and tax
levy to the county auditor; and,
WHEREAS, guidelines established by the Commissioner of Revenue require
certification to occur on or before September 15, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Revenue has certified the amount of Local
Government Aid payable to the City in 2012; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has elected to have no preliminary levy increase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds
• View that the preliminary budget for the General Fund for fiscal year 2012 is $5,511,388.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proposed 2012 base property tax levy is
$3,667,610 (General Fund $3,367,610 and Street Improvement Fund $300,000) and the
proposed 2012 special levies are $513,771 for a total net property tax levy of $4,181,381.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director shall certify these amounts to
the Ramsey County Auditor.
